Shipping Factor
A Shipping Factor is only required when using Dimensional Weight to calculate the shipping cost. The Shipping Factor is used to determine the Dimensional Weight of a product (e.g. (length * width * height)/ shipping factor). Here are some of the most common shipping factors used by freight carriers:
Metric
5000 cm³/kg = 200 kg/m³ 6000 cm³/kg = 166.667 kg/m³ 7000 cm³/kg = 142.857 kg/m³ Imperia 166 in³/lb = 10.4 lb/ft³ - common for IATA shipments 194 in³/lb = 8.9 lb/ft³- common for domestic shipments 216 in³/lb = 8.0 lb/ft³ 225 in³/lb = 7.7 lb/ft³ 250 in³/lb = 6.9 lb/ft³ Shipping Rates
Shipping Rate Formats. There are three valid Shipping Rate formats available:
Flat Rate (value:cost)
Percentage (value:cost%) Per Unit (value:cost/per) Shipping Rate Fee (+fee - Added to end of shipping rate formula – e.g. value:cost+fee) You can use any combination of shipping rate formats in the Shipping Rates field to calculate the shipping cost. EXAMPLE
Shipping Charges: 1 to 5 Products = $5.00 5 to 10 Products = $12.00 10 to 20 Products = $25.00 20+ Products = $50.00 SHIPPING RATE SETTINGS Calculate Shipping Based On: Quantity Final Cost: Single Shipping Rates: 5:5.00, 10:12.00,20:25.00, ~:50.00 Percentage: EXAMPLE Shipping Charges: $0.00 to $100.00 = $5.00 $100.00 to $200.00 = $35.00 $200.00 to $300.00 = $55.00 $300.00+ = 20% of Total + $35.00 Fee SHIPPING RATE SETTINGS Calculate Shipping Based On:Total Shipping Rates: 100:5.00, Final Cost: Single 200:35.00, 300:55.00, ~:20%+35.00 Per Unit EXAMPLE Shipping Charges: $5.00 per kg SHIPPING RATE SETTINGS Calculate Shipping Based On: Weight Final Cost: Single Shipping Rates: 1:5.00, 5:10.00, 10:20.00, ~:2.50/1 |

Requirements
Requirements allow you to dynamically create parameters that the customer’s shopping cart,or the customer themselves must meet in order to see the shipping rate. The parameters set also allow you to determine what products will be included in the shipping calculation. You can add and remove requirements dynamically as required for each shipping rate individually. There are a variety ofdifferent requirement parameters that can be assigned, giving you virtually unlimited possibilities for tailoring Advanced Shipping PRO to your needs.
Requirement Match Setting Define when the shipping rate is active based on therequirement settings. Below are examples of how to use each setting. Any Requirement Below Must Be SatisfiedThis option is ideal for setting up requirements where only one requirement must be satisfied.
Example: When, creating a shipping rate where the product name or product model must contain the phrase “iPod”. In this scenario, you would create two requirements: Product Name Contains iPod,and Product Model Contains iPod. Now the shipping rate will become available if a product within the cart contains the phrase “iPod” within either the product name or the product model. All Requirements Below Must Be Satisfied
This type of situation would occur if you have one or more requirements that must be met in order for the shipping rate to appear.
Example: You have a free shipping rate that requires the cart total to exceed $100.00, but the cart weight cannot exceed 20kg. In this scenario, you would create two requirements: Cart Total Greater Than Or Equals 100, and Cart Weight Less Than Or Equals 20. None of the Requirements Below Must Be Satisfied
This option is useful when dealing with situations where you don’t want any of the requirement settings to be met. If any one of the requirement settings is met, the shipping rate will return false.
Example: A shipping rate that cannot exceed a cart length of 50cm, cart width of 75cm and a cart height of 100cm. In this scenario, you would create three requirements: Cart Length Greater Than Or Equals 50, Cart Width Greater Than Or Equals 75, and Cart Height Greater Than Or Equals 100. Requirement Product
Inclusion Setting
The product inclusion setting is used to determine which products are included in the shipping calculation based on the product requirements settings. This setting does not determine whether a shipping rate is active or not. Below are examples of how to use each setting.
Include All Products in Shipping Calculation Regardless Of Product Requirements This option tells the system that all products within the cart are included in the shipping calculation, regardless of whether or not the product meets all or any of the product requirements. Only Include Products in Shipping Calculation That Satisfy. Any Product Requirement Below In order for the product to
be included in the shipping calculation, it must satisfy at least one of the product requirements that you have assigned to the shipping rate. An example of this would be to only include products that contain the phrase iPod in the product name or product model as part of the shipping calculation. In this example, you create two product requirements; ProductName Contains iPod, and Product Model Contains iPod. Only Include Products in Shipping Calculation That Satisfy. All Product Requirements Below In order for the product to be included in the shipping calculation, it must satisfy all of the product requirements that you have assigned to the shipping rate. An example of this would be to only include products with a product total greater than $100, and a product weight greater than 2kg.For this example, you would create two product requirements: Product Total Greater Than Or Equals 100, and Product Weight Greater Than Or Equals 2.
Only Include Products in Shipping Calculation That Satisfy None Of The Product Requirements Below Only products that do not satisfy any of the product requirements will be included in the shipping calculation. An example of this would be to exclude all products with the phrase “iPod” within either the product name or product model from the shipping calculation. In this example you would create two product requirements: Product Name Contains iPod, and Product Model Contains iPod.
Cart Requirements
Cart requirements allow you to activate or deactivate the shipping rate based on particular cart values. You can alsoadjust the cart values for the shipping calculation.
Example, if you want to add 10% to the cart weight to account for the packaging material, you would create the requirement. Cart Weight Add 10%. Product Requirements
Product requirements allow you to activate or deactivate the shipping rate based on particular product values, as well as determine what products are included in the shipping calculation. You are also able to adjust some of the product values for the shipping calculation.
Example, if you want to add 0.5kg to each product, create the requirement Product Weight Add 0.5. Product requirements support comma separated values, which means you can add multiple values to the value field. For example, if you want to look for products that contains either “iPod”, “iPad” or “iPhone” within the product name, create the requirement Product Name Contains iPod, iPad, iPhone. Customer Requirements
Customer requirements allow you to activate or deactivate a shipping rate based on particular customer values.
Example: You are able to assign a shipping rate to a particular city using the Requirement City, or set a delivery option based on the customer’s address. You can even assign custom shipping costs for customers from a particular company using the customer requirement Company. Also built into the customer requirements is an extensive postal code system. See below for more details.
Postal Codes
Using Postal Code Ranges, you can assign shipping costs to specific areas within a geo zone. This is especially useful for limiting shipping rates to specific areas within a city (e.g. Same-day delivery).
Postal Code Type
Select the type of postal codes that are defined within the postal code range field. There are two postal code types:
UK Postal Code Format: Select this option when using UK Postal Code ranges. This is very important as there is a separate validation process for UK Postal Codes. You must input the full postal code formating (e.g. A11A1A:Z999Z9Z) the ranges when using this type of postal code. The postal code itself does nothave to be valid, as long as the formatting is correct.Non UK
Postal Code Format: Use this option for all postal codes outside of the UK. The postal codes can be any format. Other Requirements
Other requirements allow you to activate or deactivate the shipping rate based on parameters such as the date, day of the week, time of day, or even the currency that a customer has selected.
Example: You want to make a shipping rate only available on Monday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. To accomplish this, three Requirements would be created: Day of the Week Equals Monday, Time Greater Than Or Equals 9:00, and Time Less Than Or Equals 5:00. Click here to watch video Tutorial
